Situated at the heart of the Lilford Estate, this small island, nestled in the River Nene has panoramic views of Robert Browne's ancestral home. It is a natural beauty spot where Red Kites circle overhead in the later afternoon.
Our aim at the Robert Browne Foundation is to open Browne's Island to the public providing facilities in keeping with the habitat. An ideal place to enjoy a picnic or simply a stroll along the banks of the river enjoying the scenery that has not changed for centuries. Daily fishing permits will be on sale at The Museum. A good place to rest if you plan to walk The Robert Browne Trail.
